Lesson's Learned for PMP exam.
Start to End
My first thanks to my trainer for making me understand the subject from start to end. All the exmaples and scenario's were like mind maps for me and have helped me alot to remember all the topics. I would say, I was totally new to the subject before joining the training. Was just holding some of the management ideas which I learnt during my FIFA EMS project. Which actually helped me to corelate all the topic except "Procurement" honestly.
Another hick up while filling the form in PMI, I could fill it properly and did not caught into audit. After all this, the time came when I need to schedule my exam. And that was the day when I started feeling now since I have crossed all the major and dependent hurdles, now its time to prove myself.
Today(18th Aug 2011) I am a PMP. :) Its such a great feeling I can not even express in words.
Thanks to everyone who supported me in this journey.
Lesson's Learnt...
1. I created Rita Mulchay and Head First as my base.
2. In the last week of exam I attemped full length exam and scored 85%, followed by the Super PMP just before two days of exam to understand where I stand.
3. After that in last two days only formulas, definitions and Page 43 diagram.
During the Exam:
1. I was very tensed before starting the exam, I took the full tutorail time intially and noted down all the formulas including [n(n-1)/2], and Page43 diagram.
2. When I started the exam, intial few quesions, was not even able to understand, started marking them for review. Later it becomes normal and I started giving the answers.
3. Theory questions were Ok, but I found it difficuly to understand and solve the numerical in first round.
a. Numericals which I got was not straight forward.
b. Due to time pressure, in my first go I could not spend time in solving it. Marked them for review and in second go I could solve them.
4. I found the exam lengthy and took only one break for 5 mins. Before the break I attempted all the ques in my first go. After the break I solved all the unattempted questions and then all the marked for reviews ones.
5. Once done with all this, i was holding 35-40 mins of time, I started reviewing all the quesions from the start and could reach till 148 and time out.
After the survey saw "Conguratulations" flashing on the screen.
Thanks to all once again.
One message i would like to give all PMP aspirants, believe in your knowledge and attempt the questions with confidence. If you have studied correctly you may be able to find the correct answer easily.
